Outreach

The charities that First Parish Church has chosen to support in 2026 include

  • January: Dismas House. For over 30 years, Dismas House has been a beacon of hope for former prisoners in greater Worcester, providing an important platform for healthy reentry from prison to those most in need of recovery, decent work, and housing.

  • February: LGBT Asylum Task Force, welcomes LGBTQ people of all faith traditions as they provide housing, food, and connections to legal, educational, medical, and mental health resources at other local agencies.

  • March:Abby's House, their dedicated team provides shelter, advocacy, and resources for women and children.

  • April: Friends of Pine Ridge Reservation focuses on specific needs of the many schools and social service organizations, such as shelters, children's organizations, and clinics physically located on the reservation.

  • Easter: UCC One Great Hour of Sharing is a Special Mission Offering of the United Church of Christ that supports partners worldwide with ministries that fund health, education, and agricultural development, emergency relief, refugee ministries, and both international and domestic disaster response.

  • May: Project New Hope, for over 16 years, has been dedicated to fostering healing, resilience, and purpose beyond military service—honoring those who served while strengthening individuals, families, and communities.

  • June: World Central Kitchen has helped serve more than 130 million meals across thousands of communities impacted by disaster.
