Our August small group book read will be The Pig Who Sang to the Moon by Jeffrey Moussaieff Masson.

Masson looks at the world of farm animals and notes that an animal is happy if it can live according to its own nature.  Books will be ordered for distribution. They are also available on Kindle and at the local library.
