Rev. Frieda Gillespie
We welcome our new interim minister, Reverend Frieda Gillespie!
A few words from Reverend Gillespie:
I have lived in Framingham Ma since 2004 when I moved from Dallas, TX to do an Internship at First Parish in Framingham Unitarian Universalist. I fell in love with New England and with my now wife, Jennifer Long, and decided to stay. I received my M. Div. from Brite Divinity School in Fort Worth, TX, and was ordained as a UU minister in 2006. I served UU churches in Greenville, NC, Roswell, GA, and Omaha, NE as an Interim Minister. I also served as a settled minister for six years in the UU church in Danvers, MA. I have found my best calling as an Interim Minister and am working towards full accreditation by the Interim Ministers’ Network.
My wife and I have five children between us three of which are young adults now. Two of them are entering their senior year in college and our youngest is starting her junior year in High School in Framingham. My daughter lives in a group home in Waltham, MA. We also have become associated with the Unaccompanied Refugee Minor program, Ascentria, started by Lutheran Social Services. We fostered a young man from Guatemala for 3 years and do respite for young children of women in the program.
Our work and our kids keep us pretty busy and pretty happy as well.
